Hello family. This is Omar Calvillo sharing with you this week's two minute devotional. Our scripture for today is Genesis chapter one, verses two to three. The Bible says Now the earth was formless and empty. Darkness was all over the surface of the deep, and the spirit of God was hovering over the waters and God said. Let there be light and there was light. The very first problem God solved in creation was the problem of darkness. Before there were plants, animals, or even people, God spoke light. Why? Because nothing can grow. Nothing can live. Nothing can flourish in the dark, and that hasn't changed. Spiritually the greatest need we have is for the light of Jesus Christ. In John eight, verse 12, Jesus declared, I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. That means without him we're stumbling, lost, blind and vulnerable in the dark. But with him, everything changes. He exposes lies. He guides our steps. He gives us clarity, and he brings life where there was only emptiness. Darkness hides, light reveals. Darkness confuses, light directs. Darkness kills, light gives life. Matthew 4:16 declares The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death, light has dawned. That's the heart of the gospel and the heartbeat of our ministry pointing people to that great light. Who is Christ! Ephesians five eight echoes the same truth For you we're once darkness, but now you are. Light in the Lord. Walk as children of the light. Salvation doesn't just forgive. It transforms. God takes us from darkness to light, from death to life, from wrong to strong. This is why our mission is from darkness to light, because the story of salvation is not just about being forgiven, it's about being transferred. Colossians 1:13 says, for he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves. That's the journey every one of us is on. Out of the shadows and into the light of Christ. So today, ask yourself, am I living in the light of Jesus or am I still clinging to the shadows? If you've been walking in confusion, fear, or sin, step into the light. Open your heart to Jesus because where his light shines, darkness has no choice but to flee. This has been your from wrong to strong two minute devotional. God bless you and I'll see you next time. My name is Omar Calvillo, and I am wrong, too strong.
