Wrong To Strong - Chicago

Week #26 - Wrong 2 Strong "2-Minute Devotional" w/ Ann Calvillo

Ann Calvillo

Ann Calvillo shares a two-minute devotional inspired by Revelation 2, where she reflects on how the Lord has been speaking to her heart. The scripture highlights both the strengths and the shortcoming of the Church of Ephesus, particularly their abandonment of their first love, Christ. Ann emphasizes the importance of not just performing good works but also maintaining a heartfelt relationship with Jesus. She calls for self-examination, repentance, and a return to the initial fervor and love for Christ.

Welcome to the Wrong to Strong two Minute Devotional. Each week we're blessed to have a new guest share a powerful scripture and a word of encouragement to ignite your spirit and feel your journey of faith. Let these messages inspire and strengthen you as you grow closer to God, and embrace the transformation he has for you. Stay strong, keep the faith, and let's grow together. We're on a mission from God, from darkness to light and from wrong to strong. Hey everyone, my name is Ann Calvillo, and, um, today I'm just going to share a two minute devotional, this is where the Lord has been, um, ministering to my heart. He's been impressing, um, these scriptures on my heart, and so I just wanted to share with you as we read through the book of Revelation chapter two, I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but you have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false. I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name's sake, and you have not grown weary, but I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Remember, therefore, from where you have fallen, repent and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come. To you and remove your lampstand from its place unless you repent. This is a word from our Lord Jesus to the Church of Ephesus, a word of, first encouragement. He's edifying the church. He's, he's letting them know, Hey, these are your strengths, but I have this one thing against you that you have forsaken your first love. And so here's a church who has gone through a lot. They've stood firm, and they've persevered. It says, I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name's sake. So they were a church that knew how to endure tough times. They knew how to endure persecution, and you have not grown weary. Here's a church that has stood for God's name, for Christ's sake, right? But I have this against you. You have abandoned the love you had at first, and so. They abandoned Christ. And here's where the Lord was ministering to me. And these people were doing it all. They were feeding the homeless. They were taking care of the orphans and widows they were doing all that. But they forgot me. And so church. That is the warning. That we can get busy and all the doing and doing and leave Christ out of it. Leave Jesus. Leave our first love. We have to examine our hearts. How do we treat people? How do we love people? How am I loving Jesus? We gotta humble ourselves and repent and turn completely to Christ. And then the last one. And do the works you did at first, so, so now we have to repeat what we did at first. How we love the Lord. The things we did at first, when I go back then 20 years ago, there was no social media, there was no cameras, there was none of that. It was just me and the Lord and the Secret Place and so I just wanted to share, this word with you because it's been on my heart. Um, I pray that it blesses you. Church. I pray that it encourages you. God bless you. My name is Ann Calvillo and I am wrong. The strong.
