Week #12 - Wrong 2 Strong "2 Minute Devotional" w/ Gideon Indovina
Thank you for joining us for another episode of the "Wrong To Strong" 2-Minute Devotionals. This week our brother Gideon Indovina from Moody Bible College reflects on 1 Peter 2:16 which urges us to live as people who are free from sin, while not abusing our freedom, but instead using it to serving God. 1 Peter reminds us that Christ has freed us from the bondage of our sins and fleshly desires. However, even though we've been liberated, we often feel chained to our past. This devotional explores the concept of freedom in Christ and emphasizes the importance of recognizing and living out our new identity in Him. Let’s consider 3 practical steps to embed this truth in our lives: List the lies and false identities we’ve believed, bring them to God, and ask Him to reveal who we truly are in Christ.

Welcome to the wrong too strong, two minute devotional each week. Let these messages inspire and strengthen you as you grow closer to God and embrace the transformation he has for you. Stay strong, keep the faith and let's grow together. We're on a mission from God from darkness to light. And from Wrong To Strong. Hi, I'm Gideon Indovina and welcome to the Wrong Strong Two Minute Devotional. Today we're gonna be looking at 1 Peter chapter 2, verse 16, which states live as people who are free, not using your freedom to cover up what's evil, but living as servants of God. Peter reminds us that we've been freed by Christ and we no longer need to live how we once were, but now we can live as servants of God, but he warns us that just because we've been freed. This freedom doesn't give us the right to abuse God's grace. But the question is,"What have we been freed from"? The Greek word for free actually means"to be freed from slavery". So what were we slaves of? We were slaves to our lives, our fleshly desires, our sins, our strongholds. So if we've been freed from these things in Christ, why do we still struggle with'em? Look at it this way. Let's say your arm is tied with the chain and that chain's tied to a boulder and a man comes up and he breaks that chain, and now you're free to go wherever you are. But even though the chain's been broken, you still see the chain wrapped around your wrist. See, the bolder represents our sins, our strongholds, the man who came in and broke that chain is obviously Christ and the chain that's around our wrist. Represents all of our memories, our life, all the things we've experienced. Even though Christ has broken that chain, we still see part of attached to us. And so we don't look actually free even though we are. And so the real battle isn't, has Christ freed us yet? The battle is, do you believe that you've been set free? The enemy is always trying to attack our identity. You're a sinner. You're an addict. And while we do struggle with things. That's not who we are. Before Christ, we were sinners, but now in Christ we've been set free. We still struggle with sin, but it's not who we are. The reason why identity is so important is whatever our identity is, we will live it out. If our identity is being a sinner, we are going to live it out in sin, but if our identity is being someone who's been set free, we will walk in that freedom. Here are some steps we can do to practically apply this truth to our lives. It's number 1. List the lies. Write down the false identities that have been labeled onto you. Number 2, bring it to God. Process this and ask him to take it. And number 3, ask him to reveal to you who you really are. I'm Gideon Indovina and I'm wrong to strong.
